Meet The Team

Lucas Lesoeur
Coach
​
Lucas Lesoeur, originally from Paris, France, was a top-ranked junior trained by the French Tennis Federation. He won the U14 Nike Junior Tour at the Mouratoglou Academy in 2010 before continuing his career in the United States, where he competed in NCAA Division I tennis at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo while earning a degree in Business Administration.
He later advanced his playing and coaching career at William Carey University, serving as Assistant Head Coach at the Racquet Club of Hattiesburg. During this period, he spent summers in Paris coaching and working as a hitting partner at both the Mouratoglou Academy and Roland Garros.
Since relocating to California in 2020, Lucas has coached at a high level in Orange County. He joined Tennis Newport Beach in 2021 and has served as Senior Head Coach, playing a key role in junior development, college placement, and overall program growth. He has worked extensively with both junior and adult players, leading group programs and private training, and has coached athletes who have gone on to compete at the NCAA Division I level.
In addition to his club work, Lucas has traveled on tour with Arthur Rinderknech, gaining firsthand experience at elite international tournaments including Wimbledon, Indian Wells, and the Miami Open.
Lucas brings a global perspective to his coaching, combining high-performance expertise with a refined, personalized approach to developing players of all ages and levels.

Adam Clauson
Coach

Adam Clauson is a high performance development coach with over 18 years experience. Adam has worked with some of the top juniors in the country for some of the most successful academies in the U.S.
Adam was a development coach with Northwest High Performance Tennis (A USTA High Performance training center) for 11 years.
Adam was a coach during the USTA high performance camps in the Pacific Northwest and also coached the zonals teams for 3 years.
Adam moved to California and worked with Advantage Tennis Academy for a year and a half as a development coach before joining Tier 1 Performance from its conception

Dan Willman
Coach
​Dan has been connected in every facet of the tennis world from sponsorship programs, fundraising, coaches, national governing bodies, academies, professionals, and juniors. He has been involved in reshaping local and national junior federations, managing facilities, running national training camps, and has implemented two high performance academies. Dan played on the professional circuit, reaching a ranking of #285 in the world. He played Davis Cup and was #1 in the country. Dan has coached players throughout the world from the junior to professional level. In 2005-2006 he was the New Zealand National Under 12s and Under 14s Coach and Selector. Dan traveled internationally with the teams and in 2006 coached the New Zealand Under 14’s Team to a 4th Place finish in the World Junior Davis Cup in the Czech Republic. The last 13 years Dan founded and ran one of the most successful U.S, junior programs in the Kirkland, Seattle WA. Northwest High Performance Tennis (NWHPT) NWHPT has produced Six #1 in the U.S. one #1 & #4 in the world.
His students have won the most prestigious junior tournaments in the world (Aegon Junior Champs, England, Les Petit As, France), ITFs, 3 NCAA team championships, and pro tournaments.
Dan’s academy was named a USTA certified regional training centre (5 in the U.S.) for consistently producing nationally and internationally ranked juniors. NWHPT won the 2019 USTA performance development programme of the year.
Dan and his staff have over 70 students who have competed in the University/College system. Dan received the 2010 USTA development coach of the year and was nominated to the U.S. Olympic Committee, competing against all sports.

Brendan Baar
Coach

Brendan Baar is a seasoned tennis coach with over 10 years of experience in the sport. A former Division 1 player at Weber State University, Brendan has competed in various professional events, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his coaching. He successfully coached top junior players and numerous college athletes, as well as serving as a travel coach for an ATP-ranked player. Brendan is passionate about helping players reach full potential and develop their skills on and off the court.

Luke FitzSimons

With an outstanding background as a player and coach, Luke FitzSimons brings both passion and expertise to the court, helping you believe & achieve!
Luke FitzSimons is a former Division 1 collegiate tennis player and certified USPTA PRO 1 with over 25 years of professional teaching experience. He coaches players of all ages and levels, beginners to top level athletes. Luke provides a positive learning experience while emphasizing fun and inspiration along the way. His innovative ideas and methods are grounded in core fundamentals and personalized to each athlete's learning style and level. His success is in his players' smiles and eager pursuit of their tennis potential.
